From networking to knowledge: The impact of Collibra User Groups

Thought leadership

As a business leader, and New Yorker, I’m often booked from one networking event to the next. And the truth is, these events are one of my favorite parts about my job–and city! I love meeting new people, building relationships and learning from others. I find that new inspiration often comes from the most unexpected conversations.

At Collibra, we know our customers have the same experience when interacting with each other at our events. This is why we offer certified Data Citizen® User Groups in the Collibra Community to keep the conversation and inspiration going among all of you — our customers.

What are Data Citizens® User Groups?

Our Data Citizen® User Groups are interactive, real-time opportunities for our customers to connect. These customer-led virtual meetups are designed to bring together data professionals with similar interests, industries and use cases.

Each user group serves as a platform for knowledge-sharing, where adoption and solution experts share insights, answer industry-specific questions and help each other tackle real-world data challenges.

Some of the user groups Collibra offers:

  • Industry-specific groups: Financial services, healthcare, life sciences, insurance, higher education and more
  • Regional groups: Chicago, UK, Canada, Benelux and Nordics, DACH (and growing!)
  • Language groups: Spanish and French
  • Topic-based groups: Covering specialized data topics and emerging trends like AI governance and data quality

Why are user groups important?

In the fast-paced world of data, it’s easy to feel like we’re solving problems in a silo. But the best solutions come from collective wisdom. Our user groups provide a space for open discussion, where everyone can gain insights from others who have walked the same path.

What do I find most important? These groups aren’t just about Collibra—they’re about advancing the entire data industry.

The impact of user groups

I’ve seen firsthand how these groups drive real results. Participants often walk away with:

  • Practical solutions: Advice and strategies that can be immediately applied in their organizations
  • Stronger networks: Connections with peers who understand their challenges and can offer support
  • Deeper product knowledge: Best practices and innovative ways to maximize the value of Collibra

What’s special about these groups is that they are customer-led, and a Collibra representative is in attendance. This means you drive the discussion and we take the information back to our internal teams for improvements.

The power of community

I believe that true innovation happens when knowledge is shared, not siloed. That’s what our user groups are all about—bringing people together to share insights, successes and inspiration.

If you haven’t joined a user group yet, I encourage you to explore one that fits your industry, region or interest. First, you’ll need to register or sign in through the Collibra Community to browse the full list. The connections you build today might be the ones that help drive your biggest wins tomorrow. At least, that’s my experience.
