Bright lights, tons of excitement and gobs of AI only start to scratch the surface of how to describe Google Cloud Next 2025 in Las Vegas last week. With companies across every industry doubling down on AI, this was the conference to attend for both Google Cloud customers and industry partners alike. Scores of new Gemini and Vertex capabilities, agentic AI to boost productivity and creativity, and new GPU breakthroughs all took center stage with everyone discussing the art of the possible for today and into the future. While these announcements and capabilities were showcased in Las Vegas, everyone will certainly be taking something away to help solve challenges, boost productivity, and create new experiences for customers and employees.
Why unified governance is the future of AI innovation
With data and AI use cases continuing to grow, the message at the event was clear – you need the right capabilities, with the right data, with the right governance. The theme was prevalent and it was wonderful to hear people expound on the need for solid foundations in data and data governance to ensure that AI behaves as expected. It’s why the partnership between Collibra and Google is so strong and important to our customers. Data landscapes are complicated with fragmented data, AI and governance solutions hidden in pockets across every organization. With Collibra and Google, organizations are able to take a unified, multi-cloud data and AI governance approach, providing the flexibility needed to scale and support any use case they have.
The organizations that will thrive in this new AI era are those that recognize a fundamental truth: unified governance isn’t just about control—it’s about balancing it along with acceleration and innovation. By implementing unified governance for data and AI across every system, source and user, you can create a foundation for rapid innovation while ensuring compliance and trust – we call that Data Confidence. Collibra plus Google will give you that confidence in spades.
