Senior Manager, Test Engineering

Joining Collibra’s Test Engineering team

  • You will drive the implementation and adoption of Testing strategy across scrum teams, including automation and performance test strategy, processes, frameworks, tools and techniques across Collibra teams.
  • Optimize the testing approach and increase quality by leveraging context-driven testing principles and value-added automation.
  • You will continuously monitor and calibrate the testing activities, test results, and actively lead active root cause analysis, to identify areas of improvement and drive required improvements.
  • You will provide 'hands on' expertise and support to the Test Engineers and SDETs in delivery of testing frameworks, environments and cross-cutting testing solutions.

This is a hybrid position based in Brussels, Belgium.

Sr. Managers, Test Engineering at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Coach and mentor Test Engineers & SDETs, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement along with mentoring cross-functional teams to adopt customer-centric quality practices.
  • Evaluate, standardize, and evolve our automation tools, frameworks, and practices across Collibra, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to simplify and automate existing processes, providing recommendations on issues, processes, and testing practices.
  • Partner with cross functional leaders to drive automation initiatives, advocate for quality, and champion a testing-first mindset across the organization.
  • Define and implement cross-product, platform-level E2E testing strategies that guarantee seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Lead testing efforts across one or more agile Scrum teams, promoting shift-left testing and context-driven approaches to ensure rapid and reliable releases.
  • Collaborate with VP, Test Engineering, in order to drive testing initiatives and promote Quality awareness and mindset across the organization.

You Have

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 4 years in direct management of testing teams, preferably in a SaaS environment.
  • Critical Thinking: Proven ability to challenge the architecture, design and implementation to drive quality.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven ability to design, test, and scale complex systems. Expertise in articulating findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Automation Mastery: Deep experience in defining, driving, and implementing test automation solutions and frameworks, including leveraging AI testing solutions.
  • Test Leadership: Deep understanding of Testing methodologies and transforming testing practices.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience.
  • Authorization: Must have work authorization to work in Brussels, Belgium.

Measures of success are

  • Within your first month, you will successfully complete onboarding to Collibra products, testing practices, and team dynamics, and get acquainted with the domain/ product via hands-on trainings.
  • Within your third month, you will develop and present a revised testing strategy for the teams, including a clear gap assessment and roadmap, aligned with organizational goals and priorities and defined clear, measurable KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to track the success of the Testing practices and customer perception of quality.
  • Within your sixth month, you will successfully implement testing practices across core scrum teams, resulting in measurable improvements and documented shared best practices for testing across the organization. You will be fostering a culture of continuous improvement and evidenced knowledge, providing a positive impact on team morale and productivity through effective coaching, mentoring, and leadership.
