Data Citizens 24 on the Road: Collibra and Google Cloud are better together

Brand

It’s good to get out and shake people’s hands. Recently, Collibra took our popular Data Citizens® on the Road to NYC, London and Berlin—and we had a blast. Organized in partnership with Google Cloud, we brought together hundreds of data professionals in the heart of three of the world’s greatest cities to focus on data and AI.

For data leaders, the transformational promise of AI presents a once-in-a-career opportunity. But it also creates a host of challenges, including integrating siloed data, driving data quality and governing data across a complex ecosystem.

What is Data Citizens on the Road?

Data Citizens on the Road (DCOTR) is an opportunity to learn how successful data governance teams are prevailing in this new normal for data and AI. Join thought leaders from Collibra, Google Cloud and other data leaders to learn how intelligent, unified and adaptive approaches to governance can help your organization deliver data and AI that is more reliable, traceable and compliant.

Getting to AI at scale

DCOTR is all about helping our partners and customers accelerate the value of their data and AI initiatives. To help data professionals navigate their AI journey, our recent DCOTR events featured leaders from Google Cloud, including Paola Olivari, Director of Data & Analytics; Gus Kimble, Head of North America Customer Engineering; and Christian Hesse, Head of Data Analytics & AI.

To give one example, the NYC event featured Gus presenting “Unlocking Responsible AI: Unified Data Governance with Collibra and Google Cloud.”

Gus pointed out that only 5% of companies have implemented gen AI at scale. Most of the time, the reason for failure is that today’s systems are not designed for AI. With Collibra and Google Cloud, however, organizations can align their data strategy around a single, trusted platform that includes:

  • Unified view of the entire data landscape: Collibra provides a single pane of glass for managing data across all sources, enabling better understanding and control
  • Tight integration with a shared roadmap: Collibra and Google Cloud are committed to their ongoing collaboration and development, ensuring seamless integration and future-proof solutions
  • Simpler data stewardship using native AI for smart automation: Collibra leverages AI to automate data governance tasks, freeing up data stewards to focus on more strategic initiatives
  • Consistent security and compliance taking the best of both platforms: The combined solution provides robust security features and helps organizations comply with data privacy regulations
  • Easy, compliant access to advanced AI: No matter where your data sits, our partnership with Google enables organizations to leverage the power of Google Cloud’s AI tools while maintaining data governance and compliance

Better together: For your 2025 AI initiatives

In 2024, enterprise AI adoption saw tremendous growth, and there’s no doubt that in 2025 we will see even more investment in AI and its promise.

Many organizations are already pushing forward with AI initiatives. However, it’s important to remember that your AI models are only as good as the data they’re trained on. High-quality, well-governed data is essential for accurate predictions, reliable insights and effective automation. Most existing data platforms aren’t up to the task.

Enter Google Cloud and Collibra. Together, we provide organizations with a trusted platform to build and deploy responsible AI with confidence. If you’re ready to unlock the full potential of responsible AI and gain data confidence, we invite you to learn more about Collibra AI Governance.
