How Collibra innovation leads the way for customers to do more with trusted data

Thought leadership

When I joined Collibra, I was inspired by its vision to help all data citizens find the meaning of their data. Now, three years later, I have loved driving a huge part of Collibra’s evolution from simply a data governance tool to an enterprise-grade data intelligence platform that allows data teams to find, organize, govern, trust and understand the massive volumes of data they have.

Companies today are dealing with an ever more hybrid data landscape with newer data and AI regulations.  Adding to the increased demand for data, this presents a massive challenge. Collibra solves this by helping them gain a better understanding of their data, its source, and its last update, thus enabling them to use the data with confidence to make informed decisions.

Innovating in the age of AI

As we approach the second anniversary of the release of ChatGPT, organizations are clearly investing more and more in AI use cases. This has led to the increasing demand for trustworthy data, with 92% of data and analytics leaders acknowledging its importance. Furthermore, 94% of business leaders have made it a priority to extract more value from their data. In addition, organizations recognize the necessity of reliable data for developing trusted AI as they venture further into the realm of artificial intelligence.

Today’s leading organizations have already started figuring out how to achieve their data and AI objectives. According to Wavestone’s latest CDO report, 77% of CDOs are now driving business innovation with data, up from 48% just three years ago. How are they doing it?

They are getting more people involved with trusted data. The number of organizations reporting that they’ve established a data and analytics culture has more than doubled from just two years ago, from 20.6% to 42.6%.

With more data and more needs for data, there is more progress. Now is the time to do more with trusted data.

A vision for data democratization

As the chief product officer for Collibra, one of my goals is to continue to deliver solutions that don’t require you to be a data steward or technical expert to get value out of our product. And this is where our culture makes us unique. Since we’re a data-driven company, our leadership team understands firsthand how data impacts every part of the business. This means that not only can we help our customers build out their data offices, but we’ve also invested in our own data office and data processes with a strategic long-term vision. We’re very hands-on, and we learn as we go in this process — just like our customers do.

The Collibra Data Intelligence Platform provides a best-in-class catalog, flexible governance, continuous quality and built-in privacy. We help teams take ownership of their data and improve the quality of the data they share, whether for reporting or to inform decisions and ensure data is appropriately governed and compliant.

We’ve redesigned our user interfaces for greater usability and efficiency. You’ll appreciate how new features for our Data Notebook will help you with better data exploration and analysis. We’ve also introduced features for AI governance that will help ensure our solutions will remain compliant and trustworthy as AI technologies evolve.
