It resonates with me because I’m both excited and motivated by the challenge of bringing teammates and customers together around a shared mission. In today’s fast-paced world, especially in tech, we move quickly to stay ahead of our customers’ needs. Speed can sometimes feel like the ultimate goal. But I’ve learned that true success isn’t just about how fast we move; it’s about ensuring we’re moving together in the right direction.
This is why I have a passion for community. Communities are powerful. They bring people with shared values, experiences and goals together. Communities create space for connection, support and collective growth.
At Collibra, our online customer community, the Collibra Community, is no different. Our Community allows us to connect with you (our customers) and makes it easy for you to connect with each other (your data peers). The Collibra Community is a dedicated online space for data citizens to access Collibra resources, share knowledge and troubleshoot problems. It’s a shared space where we can all come together to advance our product knowledge and collaborate in unity.
Whether you’re already a member or considering joining, I’d like to spend some time discussing my top three favorite features in the Community and how you might find them valuable.
What is the Collibra Community?
Our Community’s mission is to support and unite data citizens worldwide. We have 11,000 members ranging from data governance and quality professionals to analysts, engineers and more. These individuals have a variety of experience in the workforce–from entry-level professionals to executives. Our members have different experiences with Collibra–from novice to expert users. I love seeing this type of user diversity because it sparks fresh ideas and naturally leads to a variety of perspectives.
Think of Community as your “go-to hub” for discovering new Collibra resources, sharing insights with peers and solving challenges together.
Favorite feature #1: The ease of self-service support with forums
The cornerstone of our Community is our active forums. The Community has 60 active forums featuring topics such as getting started with Collibra, integrations, workflows and more. In Q3 2024 alone, members posted over 200 discussions to the Community.
Our forums are my favorite feature because, as a fan of self-service, I appreciate the ability to use discussion posts to review and ask questions rather than submitting a support ticket. Plus, since the forums are public to members, they’ll help the next person with the same question. We have a great team of internal experts keeping an eye on these discussions and chiming in every week. That said, don’t wait for us–we welcome you to jump in and start replying if you have the answer first.
Forums aren’t the only way to support one another. You can take the conversations live by joining a range of Data Citizen User Groups.
Favorite feature #2: Our gold mine of User Groups
Data Citizens User Groups are interactive virtual groups where Collibra data enthusiasts can discuss topics together and in real-time. User Groups are my second favorite feature in our Community because they are a gold mine for learning and networking. Our User Groups are industry, regional and topic-specific, meaning you can connect with other Collibra customers across different companies.
The beauty of a User Group is the members lead the discussion so you get to discuss what is top of mind for you and your peers. Over the past few months, users facilitated great conversations on how to use Collibra Value Framework and how users successfully implemented AI governance use cases in their organizations.
You can think of your User Group as your cohort. They’re there if you need support.
Favorite feature #3: Showcasing Community spirit with badges
Did I mention that the more you participate in the Community, the more you’re rewarded? As my third favorite feature, I love that the Collibra Community offers a gamification program for our members where you can earn points and badges for your engagement.
We have a variety of badges you can earn by posting discussions, replying to posts or joining a Data Citizens User Group. As you explore the Community, these badges make it easier to identify members’ industries and activity levels, helping you quickly find common ground with your peers. As you earn more points, you might even earn a top-spot on the Community Leaderboard.
While we love celebrating your contributions, we’re equally committed to listening and learning from you to make the Community even better. I’ve shared some of my favorite parts about our Community. Now we’d like to hear from you.
