At Collibra we’re on a mission to democratize access to data and to make data work smarter for all our users.
I’ve always been fascinated by technology’s potential to solve humanity’s most pressing problems – and to shape the world for the better. This led me to pursue an engineering career and spend over a decade at Medidata Solutions, creating solutions for better, faster, more patient-centric clinical trials—always with the hope and drive of finding the cures or preventative treatments that still elude us. Today, as the CTO at Collibra, that vision of technology for a purpose continues to guide me. We’re on the cusp of the most significant and disruptive technological revolution of our lives, and good data and AI governance are the keys to making the best of it.
In May, we announced Collibra’s largest release to date, and I am thrilled to join in celebrating our Q42024 product announcements that build on that new and modern foundation. We believe that everything starts with visibility into trusted data. Our Q4 updates will help data leaders like yourself remain competitive in our rapidly evolving technological landscape, manage the increasing complexity of the data ecosystem and accelerate your adoption of advanced AI.
Our latest release includes significant enhancements across data quality, governance and observability that address four key challenges:
- Observe your data quality better: We’ve expanded our Data Quality & Observability capabilities with pushdown processing for organizations utilizing systems like SAP HANA and SQL Server. This allows you to validate data quality directly within your data platforms, reducing costs and improving scalability. Our enhanced connection mapping also automatically links quality rules to schemas and tables, providing greater visibility into your data’s health.
- Organize your data better: Our Data Catalog now features a new SLO-driven data product asset model, assisting you in better organizing and managing data assets. Collaboration is enhanced with tools like Data Notebook, which now includes enforcement of data retention periods and improved discoverability features.
- Govern your data better: Data governance isn’t just a checkbox—it’s the foundation that enables your organization to innovate confidently. Our latest enhancements reflect this belief by giving organizations the tools they need to govern their data more efficiently, ensuring compliance, visibility and flexibility are embedded into every step of the data lifecycle.
- Govern your AI: As AI becomes integral to business strategies, Collibra AI Governance catalogs, assesses and monitors any AI use case. You can now integrate assessments and workflows across major AI platforms like AWS SageMaker and Microsoft Azure ML. Our governance framework ensures AI use cases are compliant, traceable and align with key regulations like the EU AI Act and NIST standards using out-of-the-box assessments.
The road ahead for AI and data: Scaling trust
At Collibra, we’re committed to building not just for today but for the future.
We recognize that complexity increases as data and AI evolve at unprecedented rates. The Collibra Data Intelligence Platform simplifies this complexity, providing tools that make data management, governance and observability more transparent and actionable.
Reflecting on the last few years’ journey, I’m proud of what we’ve achieved so far, but I’m even more excited about what’s ahead.
Wherever you are in your digital journey, we’re here to help your organization build a culture of trusted data and leverage it to drive meaningful change. Because when your data is trusted, your decisions improve, and the only limit to scaling your organization’s innovations is your vision. Are you ready?
