Staff Performance Engineer

Joining Collibra’s Engineering team

We're looking for a talented Staff Software Performance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our software applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, execute, and analyze performance tests, identify performance bottlenecks, and recommend optimizations to enhance user experience.

This is a hybrid position based in Prague, Czech Republic.

Staff Performance Engineers at Collibra are responsible for

  • Lead and manage Performance Engineering activities for critical projects and applications.
  • Design and execute performance testing strategies for complex software systems to assess scalability, reliability, and responsiveness.
  • Develop and maintain performance test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks (e.g., LoadRunner, JMeter, Artillery, K6, Gatling).
  • Analyze performance test results and collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Monitor system performance during load and stress testing and implement necessary performance tuning adjustments. (e.g.  DataDog, Grafana, OTEL )
  • Work closely with system architects and infrastructure teams to optimize software and hardware configurations.
  • Provide regular performance test reports and metrics to stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Proficient in tracing, profiling, monitoring and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in software performance testing and engineering.
  • Proficient in scripting languages like Python, Groovy, or Shell scripting for test automation and scripting performance tests
  • Collaboratively lead in a cross-functional team environment, including developers, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and project managers

You have

  • 7+ years of experience in software performance testing, with a strong understanding of performance testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Proficiency in performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, or similar.
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages (e.g., Java, Python).
  • Solid understanding of web technologies (HTTP, REST APIs, etc.) and performance monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, AppDynamics).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • You must have work authorization to work in Prague, CZ.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Certification in performance testing (e.g., ISTQB Performance Testing Certification).
    • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

You are

  • Experienced in leading  performance Engineering and optimization efforts across multiple projects or systems.
  • Prior experience in designing and executing performance testing strategies to evaluate scalability, reliability, and responsiveness of complex software systems.
  • Experienced in analyzing performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement in application and system performance.
  • Collaborative with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot performance issues and drive solutions.
  • Comfortable mentoring and coaching junior performance engineers, providing guidance on performance testing techniques and tools.
